Now Mister Mike will be holding it down at the Bubblehouse (34th & Sansom) on Fridays, and Skinners (2nd & Market) on Saturdays.

Combinin’ Forces Mix - A fusion of Hip Hop and Downtempo
As promised I’m starting a podcast. Well, apparently I did. The last two mixes I posted are avaible as a podcast. Who knows if I can keep up with a regular weekly episode but I’ll try. For the premiere, debut, or shall we inagural installment we have “Combinin’ Forces” some of you may know this mix from a year ago when Mister Mike and I recorded it. Well, I feel we should all hear it again. This is what I said about it a year ago ….
Combinin forces is Basically the best beats for the best verses. combinin the best Downtempo of the last 10 years with some of the best verses in hiphop. Seamlessly mixed by Dj Mister Mike with some help from Solus (a.k.a Matt Coogan). What developed was a totally new concept a remix dj mix. Almost every tune is a remix in some way.
Music is music and the verses seem to fit like a glove over the new beats. Drops and breaks in the tunes made it seem as though they had been written for each other. Its was almost scary hearing Charisma flow over Artemis’ track the 2 beats couldn’t be more different but both songs benefitted from the new context they were placed in. From that moment the mix came about, tracks were matched to verses, a flow developed and after Dj spinna’s track had too many Mc’s on it we decided to cut in the best 5 Mc’s and create “Five times High”

This first one “Heavy Headz” made it on to my mix for 103.3 last month. Did I mention how much I love the sound of my new Eqs and compressors? They are all over this track. For example, the bass is through my gee-tar amp but sounds full on. No plug in could make that sound. Peep it for yourself.
