This is just a post to help out people that may have had the same problem I suffered today. A good half hour setup at the reheasal spot for some drum tracking and my pro tools rig decides to give me the 6085 error.

No playback , no recording, to output into the headphones. The day is a wash and I tear down and leave. Now 2 hoursĀ  later, after searching the support forums to no avail… I remember.

the old fix all… DELETE THE Volume.dbb file in the Digidesign database folder !!!

I’m back in business.

Hopefully I can save someone an hour or two of bs if they stumble across this post.

found my problem.. was fixed with 7.3.1 cs2 supposedly. But the workaround which worked for me was to unplug and replug my mbox2pro.

Thanks dude… totally solved the problem for my band tonight!!! We’re running with Mbox 2 pro, reason4, automap server, and Macbook Pro. Was getting 6085 till we deleted the volume.dbb
A million thanks dude…
Btw, do you mind telling me what led you to delete that file? I mean, what’s the logic behind it? Why is this the solution? thx.

Thanks very much. I’ve been struggling with this as well. It also mentions in Pro Tools support that you should turn Airport and Bluetooth off. It worked for me.
Cheers.
